de:colonial baakenhafen – Exhibition on the Stubnitz
MS Stubnitz – Kultur, Raumschiff Kirchenpauerkai 29, 20457 HamburgStudents from the inter-university educational project “de:colonial monuments lab” invite visitors aboard the MS Stubnitz to rediscover traces of colonialism in the past and present. Installations, video, audio, and digital formats offer diverse perspectives on the culture of remembrance, colonial and global interconnections, and forms of resistance.
The interactive exhibition connects themes such as coffee, its colonial origins, the Baakenhafen as a central site of remembrance, house dance, and colonial continuities in urban space through street names. It is linked to the walk de:colonial baakenhafen but can also be visited independently.
