Foodprints - Our Stories in Cyan Blue

7 - 99 years MS Stubnitz – Kultur, Raumschiff Kirchenpauerkai 29, 20457 Hamburg Platz Buchen

We’ll be printing and sharing your stories about food on the “Future Deck” of the MS Stubnitz—hopefully under bright sunshine and using the cyanotype technique!

Food scraps, seeds, plants, pasta from the supermarket: Bring along anything that connects you to your everyday life, to visits, or to other people!

There’s a playful space for experimentation and stories just waiting to be told. Which dishes remind you of home? Which foods make you feel safe and secure? What food gives you comfort when you’re not feeling so great? Throughout this process, we’ll explore where cyanotype actually comes from, what it has to do with categorization, classification, and colonial legacies, and how we can reframe this technique.

Meikey To They/Them

Meikey To (they/them) lives and works as a freelance illustrator and comic artist in Hamburg. Meikey’s work explores critical visual language and collective storytelling in spaces dedicated to the solidarity-based exchange of knowledge and the sharing of techniques as a political practice. Through workshops, zines, and comics,

Meikey explores postcolonial perspectives, their own diasporic experiences, and the question: Whose stories are being told, and how?
